Traquair House Brewery
Situated in one of the wings of Scotland's Oldest Inhabited House lies an authentic eighteenth century brewery that was abandoned in the early 1800's but brought back into production in the early 1960's by Peter Maxwell Stuart, 20th Laird of Traquair.
A pioneer of micro brewing, the rich dark traditional Scottish Ales continue to be brewed using the original equipment and fermented in the old oak tuns giving the ales their unique flavours.
There are currently four bottled ales Traquair House Ale (7.2%) Traquair Jacobite Ale(abv 8%) Traquair Bear Ale (abv 5%) and The Laird's Liquor (abv6%). All the ales are available for tasting and purchase at Traquair House and through the web site www.traquair.co.uk
