If you like your culture concentrated into a few action-packed days, why not sample one of the lively festivals which have become such a feature of the Tweed Valley?
For starters, there's the Peebles Outdoor Film Festival (26-28 Jan), Traquair Medieval Fair (26 May), Innerleithen Music Festival (17-19 Aug), Beyond Borders International Festival (25-26 Aug), and the Tweed Valley Forest Festival (20-27 Oct).
Or if looking for a little more mud and mayhem, then catch up with the UK's biggest (and friendliest!) bike festival, TweedLove (25 May-10 June), or the many other cycling events happening throughout the year. How about the Selkirk Mountain Bike Marathon (6 May) or the Bowhill Duathlon Series (various dates). And if running (not to mention scrambling and falling over) is your thing, then you really must check out the genuinely bonkers Mighty Deerstalker (3 March), or the wonderful Ruff Dugger (19 May) also on the Traquair Estate.
Don’t forget, we've got loads of other events taking place throughout the year, so do take a moment to look around and see what takes your fancy. Then why not organise a short break in the Tweed Valley to take advantage of everything else the area has to offer!
