The Cringletie kitchen is headed by executive chef Willie Pike MBE, who creates menus and dishes that stay long in the memory. The style is modern British, with our food attracting guests from nearby Edinburgh and beyond.

Our philosophy is to work with only the very best produce as it becomes available, ensuring that menus reflect the market, garden, sea and season. While fresh produce is delivered daily, we also make use of the abundance of fruit and vegetables grown in our walled garden just outside the kitchen door.

Another way of ensuring that only the best and freshest products are used is by working with suppliers who are able to trace produce back to the field or boat. On that basis, we are very proud to have achieved the Taste our Best award from Visit Scotland.

To accompany the menu, our cellar offers a broad spectrum of bins. From the classic Perrier Jouët Brut champagne or a full-bodied Bordeaux to a ‘new world’ Pinotage, there is something for every palate.

Throughout the year, we hold a variety of special events – Sunday Carvery, Friday BBQ, Scottish Nights, Christmas Lunches, Hogmanay Scottish Evenings and more – all with equally special food and drink. And of course don’t forget our wonderful selection of afternoon teas, including our indulgent Champagne Afternoon Tea.

The conservatory is the ideal room for celebration lunches, afternoon teas and dinners, especially when the weather allows us to open the doors so that guests can explore the extensive grounds. And if guests would like a more formal setting, then of course the restaurant might also be available. The choice is yours!
