Cross Keys Hotel
The Cross Keys is the oldest continuously operating inn/hotel in Peebles and has been place of rest and refreshment since its acquisition by the Vintner Ritchie in 1693 - his daughter Marion was the landlady and gained notoriety both as the model for Meg Dodds in Sir Walter Scott's Waverley Novels and as our long-term resident ghost!
Under a new management team since mid 2006, the hotel has been revived and developed. We offer attractive en-suite rooms, a cosy bar with real fires and real ale plus live music and the best beer garden in the town.
We particularly cater for outdoor enthusiasts and are members of the Cyclists/Walkers/Golfers and Bikers Welcome schemes with secure storage, drying room, maps and guidance aplenty. In addition we have opened bunkrooms with private facilities to provide a low cost option for bed and breakfast.
