VisitScotland held its first sustainable tourism event last week, Thursday 11th February in the Tweed Valley at the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel.  The events have been planned to help businesses understand how sustainable practices can improve their bottom line and in turn aid growth in Scottish tourism.
 

Five Gardens in the Tweed Valley are opening their gates to green fingered visitors between 1 February and 15 March 2010 to celebrate the Scottish Snowdrop Festival.
 
They join 45 gardens across Scotland taking part in the event which showcases the best snowdrop gardens in woodlands and estates across Scotland, many of which open exclusively for the festival.
