The Peebles Food Festival is back with events taking place on Friday, Saturday & Sunday 22rd - 24th October 2010. Entering into its fourth year with some familiar events and some great chefs demonstrating their skills there is something for everyone to see & do.

Develop your photography skills with local landscape photographer Graham Riddell within a small, friendly and informal group. Tweedside Photo Walk (Morning Session) Walk along the river Tweed through Haylodge Park and up to Neidpath Castle to photograph opportunities as they arise.  For more information click here.

 The Innerleithen Alpine Club was founded in 1889 under the charismatic leadership of Robert Mathison. A heritage movement before its time, the Club dedicated itself to the study of the geology, botany and antiquities of the Scottish Borders. Alastair Learmont from Learmont Mackenzie Travel tells the inspiring tale of a Borders Hugh Miller and a remarkable community institution. This event is linked to Walk 8.1 - Robert Mathison Walk, on Saturday 11th.

From Traquair Kirk our route takes us westwards up the Glen to Glenshiel Banks (minor road/farm tracks). By moorland track we climb southwards to Blackhouse Forest, and thence by forest tracks to Blackhouse Tower. We return to Traquair Kirk along the Southern Upland Way. This walk ties in with Alastair Learmont’s talk on 'Robert Mathison and the Innerleithen Alpine Club' on Friday 10th at 7pm.   For more details click here.

Since it began in 1993, the Selkirk Rally has become the biggest vintage car rally in Scotland, growing from 80 to 1884 exhibitors and 300 to 4000 visitors.

The Scottish Borders Walking Festival is the longest established walking festival in Scotland.

It takes place in a different part of the Scottish Borders each year and 2010's theme is "Walking the Tweed Valley".

Based in the Royal Burgh of Peebles, the Festival will celebrate the area's stunning scenery with walks taking place in and around Peebles, Innerleithen, Walkerburn, West Linton and Selkirk.
